EMCOR Group, Inc. Subsidiary Completes Contract for Comprehensive Electrical Infrastructure on the Port of Miami Tunnel Project

MIRAMAR, FLORIDA, May 28, 2014 - EMCOR Group, Inc.'s Florida branch of its Dynalectric Company subsidiary provided the comprehensive electrical infrastructure for the Port of Miami Tunnel project. The contract was awarded December 2012, and on May 19, 2014, 17 months later, the Port of Miami Tunnel was dedicated.

The Port of Miami Tunnel is a twin tube, 4,186 foot tunnel more than 100 feet below Biscayne Bay and provides direct access to the Port of Miami Cargo and Cruise Terminals from major expressways, relieving traffic congestion in Downtown Miami.


Dynalectric Company was responsible for providing the electrical infrastructure for the tunnel. Scope of work included the installation of 1,444 lighting fixtures, more than 200,000 feet of conduit (including 100,000 of stainless steel conduit), and more than 1,000,000 feet of wire throughout the twin tunnels.
